Travel Program

Ventures” is the travel and events program of Peoples Savings Bank. Each month customers and friends of the bank are offered activities that include informational meetings, concerts, day bus trips, overnight tours, and extended trips. Past events have included a lesson on Iowa History, day trips to Pella and Decorah, Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center and a trip to Alaska. The goal of “Ventures” is to provide a wide variety of interesting and enriching experiences in all price ranges to customers. Bring a friend to our get together on Tuesday, March 12, at 2 o’clock in the Wellsburg Library Meeting Room for a look at our exciting 13 days in March 2020! Let’s cruise the Nile together, explore Giza, the Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Sakkara, Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, Luxor, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Karnak, Old Cairo, and more. Brochures will soon be at the bank, or ask us to mail you one. Then come to our session for even more information. You’ll save $250 per person when you book then, and save even more if you’ve traveled to California and/or Ireland with us recently. You know that on a guided tour you’ll get all the details that you won’t get on your own while you share the fun with your friends and neighbors.

“SHADES OF IRELAND,” — March 23-April 1, 2019. Our Ireland travelers will soon be experiencing this great 10-day trip! Final itineraries and other information will be shared at our 3:30 p.m. meeting on March 12 in the Wellsburg Library Meeting Room.

THE ILLUSIONISTS – Saturday afternoon at Gallagher-Bluedorn, April 27. Join us for this mind-blowing spectacular show direct from Broadway! The jaw-dropping talents of five of the most incredible illusionists will dazzle audiences of all ages with a powerful mix of the most outrageous and astonishing acts ever to be seen on stage. The nonstop show is packed with thrilling and sophisticated magic of unprecedented proportions. We’ll enjoy lunch together before the performance. Our motor coach that takes us to & from the theater door, delicious lunch (site has been changed to Hwy 63 Diner), admission, taxes and tips are all included in the fee of $145; receive a $5 discount if you are a Peoples Savings Bank customer.

LANESBORO, MN AMISH – Tuesday, May 14. We’ll tour the Amish community located in the beautiful Bluff Country of southeast Minnesota. This is your chance to experience a unique Christian community lifestyle as you step back in time, while munching on Amish-made sweet buttery cashew crunch found in one of the shops. We’ll have a step-on guide and visit a basket maker, two furniture makers, a bakery, and the historic Methodist Church. Enjoy lunch at the Pedal Pusher Cafe. Then spend a little time shopping downtown at such shops as the Amish Experience, E2 Boutique, Cheryl’s Fabric Garden, and Beautiful Something. MYSTERY TRIP – Thursday, June 13. You know you’ll have a great time, and this one is full of fun times that will be interesting to both men and women. Be sure to sign up early! EUREKA SPRINGS & BRANSON – August 5-8. Experience the Greatest Story Ever Told, the renowned outdoor drama “The Great Passion Play” in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Hundreds of actors and actresses, live animals, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting create an unforgettable experience, performed on a 550-foot-wide multilevel stage in an outdoor amphitheater. Admission to the Bible museum and The Holy Land Tour, where we explore the Middle-Eastern culture in which Jesus was raised and we meet characters from the time of Moses to the time of Christ, are included. In Branson we’ll see the Johnson Strings, the Blackwoods, Tribute to Abba, Samson at the Sight & Sound Theatre, and Smoke on the Mountain. All admissions, three nights lodging, three dinners, a lunch, hot breakfasts at our Branson hotel, and our luxury bus transportation are all included in your fee of $795 per person double occupancy or receive a $50 per person discount if you are a Peoples Savings Bank customer. DAVENPORT, OH MY! — Tuesday, September 17. We’ll start at the Chocolate Manor and go into the kitchen to sample some of the delicious chocolates made there. Then we’re ready for the Captain’s Narrated Lunch Cruise on the Mississippi, featuring a hot lunch buffet and some of the historic sights of the Quad City area. We’ll have a guided tour of the German Heritage Museum that chronicles and preserves the history of the German Americans in the Midwest. We’ll end our visit by seeing many historic area homes with our step-on guide. Bus, lunch cruise, tours, and all admissions for $155; receive a $5 discount if you are a Peoples Savings Bank customer.
