JIM MCDONOUGH, AFTERNOON PERFORMANCE IN HIS HOME – THURSDAY, MAY 11, 2023

JACKPOT FOR YOU! We’ve added—at NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU!!– a yummy lunch at Granite City Food & Beverage in Cedar Rapids, before this concert. We have only a few tickets left, so jump on this NOW.

We’re all invited to the home of Jim McDonough, International Steinway Artist, for a full-length concert featuring his distinctive brand of solo piano music. Jim’s repertoire includes songs of faith and inspiration, songs from the Silver Screen, Broadway show tunes, patriotic melodies, and so much more. What a memorable time we’ll have, watching and listening in his Cedar Rapids-area home as he performs on his personal Steinway concert grand piano. During the intermission, we’ll enjoy beautiful complimentary desserts and champagne (or an available non-alcoholic option.) We’ll be there on the Thursday afternoon before Mothers’ Day, so perhaps this could be a very nice gift for some very fortunate people. There will be only a small group of about 40 guests and we have 25 of the tickets. Fun with friends (old and/or new), lunch, cozy concert, our luxury motor coach, tax and tips are all included in the fee of $140 if you have a Peoples Savings Bank account. If this is not your bank, you’re most welcome to join us and will need to add a small $5 convenience fee. Many of us have enjoyed other performances by Jim McDonough, and we are excited about this special opportunity. We hope you can make it! To register, simply contact one of the banks below.

FRIDAY, JUNE 2, HEEERRREEE’S JOHNNY! We’re going to Corning, in southwest Iowa, where we’ve “never ventured before.” We’ll visit the historically restored home of Johnny Carson, where he was born and lived with his family for the first three years of his life. He was a steady presence in many of our homes as he entertained us for 30 years on The Tonight Show with his quick wit and entertaining interviews, and nightly reruns continue. After our First Friday BBQ lunch, sponsored by various community businesses, we’ll visit the historic opera house and learn about the Underground Railroad in Iowa and also the French Icarians, who came in the 1880s to pursue a special vision for their future. We’re invited to browse, dream, (and even buy) at the classic and antique cars and trucks collection we’ll visit. Our comfortable deluxe motor coach, lunch, tax and tips, and much fun are coming your way for only $135 if you have a Peoples Savings Bank account; add $5 convenience fee if you do not.

SUNDAY, JULY 12, CLASSIC OLDIES LUNCH CRUISE. What could be better in July than a lovely “chauffeured” drive to Dubuque and a cool 4-hour cruise on the Mississippi River with your friends and neighbors, where you’re eating great food and listening to the oldies music you love. We’ll be on the Celebration Belle, a paddlewheel boat specifically designed for cruising the waterways of the mighty Mississippi. Pianist Aaron Lotzow, who formerly played on the Disney cruise line, will play a variety of oldies and take requests. Did I mention the food? We start with their famous sticky rolls with fruit, and will also have a full hot 2-entree buffet. We hope you join us for this fun day on the mighty river. Our deluxe motor coach, food, entertainment, tax and tips are all included for $135 if you are a Peoples Savings Bank customer, or add $5 convenience fee if you are not.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 20, “THE KIDS LEFT, THE DOG DIED, NOW WHAT?”, DUBUQUE MATINEE. Let’s start this VERY entertaining outing with a winding scenic drive along the ridges of the driftless geologic region of northeast Iowa as we make our way to lunch at our favorite Balltown restaurant, which is on the Great River Road National Scenic Byway and a short walk to a scenic overlook. (That means, of course, the fantastic lunch buffet at Breitbach’s Country Dining.) We’ll head then to this play that is a comedic salute to those of us who may be struggling with the effects of gravity on our bodies, of grandchildren on their self-images and of the dating scene on their egos. It’s a laugh-out-loud musical that follows the day-to-day concerns of the over-50 empty nesters, where the ultimate goal is aging gracefully. The delicious buffet lunch all made from scratch, our luxury motor coach, fun music comedy, taxes and tips are all YOURS for $135 per person if you have an account with Peoples Savings Bank, or add $5 convenience fee if you do not.

Stay tuned, please. We continue working on more opportunities for you.
